What is Sweat Therapy?
In this two and half hour workshop, you will be provided education, a fitness class for all levels, and an opportunity for self-reflection and learning. Our facilitator, Amber Brodziak MSW RSW is highly specialized in the area of wellness, fitness, mental health and mind/body connection, to bring you an opportunity to take part in this elevated form of self-care. Expect two different sections of the workshop: First, Amber will provide education on Micro + Macro Trauma: What is it? Do all of us have trauma? How does it impact us in our day to day lives? Amber brings research and the most recent findings in this area, and pairs it with relatable real life every day stories. Amber works to help you understand your patterns, not just put a bandaid on some symptoms.
This is not group therapy and you will not be asked to share, disclose or talk with anyone else at this workshop. We know that this work can feel vulnerable and scary, so will be honouring your own private learning style.
Following the learning portion of the event, Amber will lead you through a fitness class designed for all ages and levels. We start slow and build to increase energy and intensity, ensuring that there are many modifications and options offered throughout if you are not able or do not want to push too hard. We end the fitness component with connecting to the body, a meditation and grounding.
The goal is to have you feeling empowered, confident, and connected to the energy in the room. It's pretty incredible!

Welcome + Opening Message - 6:00pm
Education + Learning - 6:15pm
Presenter: Amber Brodziak MSW RSW
Education: Micro + Macro Trauma
In this presentation, Amber is going to provide education and information on trauma and how it impacts us daily. With trauma being used as a fairly consistent "buzz word" recently, it's important to understand the layers and levels of our own trauma.
Amber will cover Micro + Macro Trauma, where this comes from, and ways to take care of ourselves while holding and working through our difficulties.
Movement: Let's Sweat, Let's Move - Fitness Class
Amber will teach a fitness class that includes many types of exercises (squats, lunges, jumping jacks, core work, floor work). This class supports all fitness levels, and plenty of modifications will be provided.
Amber will end the class with a cool down, stretch and meditation that will allow you to connect to the self and feel grounded.
Bring a yoga mat, clean indoor running shoes, and clothes and layers that you will comfortable moving in.
