Diana Wamsteeker MSW

Clinical Lead

I believe in creating a collaborative relationship with you, the expert in your own life, to help create the change you are looking for. It is important to me to foster a safe and welcoming environment where you
feel heard, valued, and respected. It is an immense privilege to enter the stories of other people’s lives and I feel deeply honoured to do so. I have been described as down-to-earth, warm, and empathetic.

It is important for me to tailor treatment and interventions specific to your individual needs, and so wholehearted listening and understanding to your unique story, experience, and situation is vital. Diverse experience within Alberta and Newfoundland allows me to utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and intervention, based on a mutual understanding of your goals. I ensure treatment is trauma-informed and focused by using best practice standards.

I have additional training in evidence-based treatment modalities; including, Gottman Methods Couples Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative
Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory and utilize these within the context of a helpful therapeutic relationship.
I am a Registered Social Worker within the Province of Alberta and have been working within the mental health field since 2005. I have extensive experience working with youth and adults and specialize in
stress management, anxiety, depression, trauma, work-life balance, pre- and post-partum concerns, and relationship difficulties. I offer individual, couple, and family counselling.
